New Happenings At SSG

6Education and Community..."On Our Radar"I am super excited that this past July Senior Style Guide celebrated it's 4th. birthday.  The SSG community was a dream of mine and here it is a reality.  I want to see this industry grow and be more positive and uplifting.  That cannot happen without education, inspiration and support.  I feel they are all important pillars in this industry.  Education can come in many forms.  Maybe there is a photographer whose work you find yourself going back to again and again?  Maybe no one knows who this photographer is?  Perhaps they are "flying under the radar"?  It happens but I want to find those photographers. I want to celebrate their work.  And most importantly, I believe we can all learn something from each other.  I have long said I don't care where you are in your photography journey, I want to see your work.  So with that, I am starting a new column at SSG titled "On Our Radar."Each month we will be featuring an artist who is inspiring others, who may not necessarily be someone you have heard of.  From time to time I will be enlisting the help of the SSG community to nominate an artist.  I want to hear their story, share their triumphs and hear what they are doing to make this dream of theirs a reality.  We can learn from others whether it be through inspiration, education or everything in between.  We look forward to featuring these artists not just on the blog and instagram, but some will be guests on our SSG periscope.  This community will only get stronger if we are there to uplift and give as many people as possible a voice.PeriscopeMany of you may have noticed we started a weekly Senior Style Guide educational periscope broadcast.  We plan to continue with this as our speakers have been amazing.  The "aha" moments are happening and people are walking away with a deeper connection to the speakers and a new way to look at their businesses.  I have learned something on EVERY periscope with our guest speakers!  Speaking of...don't miss Sarah Lane today at 12:00 pst!  If you would like to be considered for one of our guest spots please let me know!  If you are not following us please do so @seniorstyleguide"The Struggle Is Real"In addition to this new column we are actively interviewing people still for our "The Struggle Is Real" column.  I am looking for the perfect candidate who can put it all out there from their successes to their failures.  Real accounts with real world outcomes and solutions.  If you think you are that person, please email me at info@seniorstyleguide.com and in the subject line please put "The Struggle Is Real."  This opens the dialogue to change and how can we avoid or improve the outcome in the future."Spaces We Love"And you may have noticed long time columnist, Kristie Bradley, is back sharing "Spaces We Love" on the blog!  I love getting a glimpse into your spaces!"Senior Guy Style"Lastly, our Senior Guy Style column is being taken over by Robin Long.  Many of you know her as our blog feature columnist over at Modern Teen Style.  I am thrilled to announce she is moving over to SSG and ready to jump in with both feet this week.  Expect to hear more from her in the Senior Style Guide private Facebook group!  But in the meantime, start compiling your guy images!  I want to see them!  And since she will be moving this leaves her blog feature position open.  I am actively looking for that perfect someone to join the Modern Teen Style crew!  Is that you?  If so, email me at info@seniorstyleguide.comThis year, I have lots of fun things coming, but I wanted to give you all first look into what our 4th year will be like at Senior Style Guide!  I also want to thank each and everyone of you.  Your emails, texts and fb messages of support have meant the world to me.  I am thrilled I have been able to meet several of you and I look forward to meeting many more this year!  Let's do this TOGETHER!Oh and in the spirit of always leaving you with more...we will be announcing our next SSG Destination very soon!xoxo,Vickie
