Chelsea Taylor searches instagram constantly looking to find our latest SSG Exclusive and this session from Monica Baker of Poetic Poppy Photography caught her attention! She quickly messaged Monica and the next thing I knew there was this gorgeous session in my inbox!

“You give me butterflies”

”I am a senior photographer located in Northwest Oklahoma. I moved from Dallas almost 10 years ago to Fairview, OK. The one thing I could say I miss most about being in Dallas is the beautiful scenery. You may not know much about northwest Oklahoma, but it is flat and dry as far as the eye can see. Where I live we definitely lack amazing buildings, lush vegetation, and flowers. Everything in this area is very much far and in between. Every year is a fun challenge to find beautiful locations that cohesively work with my clients. In Fairview, where I live, I love trying to find the best spots that my area offers.
This location is a hidden gem. You would never guess it exists, especially in this area. I love when I am able to shoot here. Though it’s not a public property, I like to reserve it. All my locations I usually use only once, maybe twice twice a year for my clients as not to overlap.
For this particular shoot I knew I wanted to create something fun and different than I normally shoot. I wanted a whimsical boho feeling. I also wanted to capture the hidden beauty in my area.
I put out a model call via Instagram, and Katie expressed her interest. She was completely open to my ideas I had and was very excited.
Katie is a fun loving, free spirited girl, and such a blessing to work on this vision with her in mind. 
I wanted to keep her outfits simple with a few accent pieces. I wanted to be able to feature her gorgeous hair, and that’s when the idea of monarchs came to me. They looked so beautiful with her hair and really made the location itself feel whimsical and soft.”
