An Oregon Senior Session
Today's featured senior session comes to you from Monique Serra Photography, located in Eugene, Oregon!
"This session took place at the Woodburn Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Oregon. I have lived in Oregon my entire life, and had never been! I am a natural light photographer, and completely thrive on natural beauty, so when my client recommended this location, I was eager to jump on the opportunity! Kaysey is a high school senior (with a volleyball scholarship in the fall!), who has such a kind and free soul, beautiful on the outside, but truly a light source from within. This location provided us with the perfect colors, contrast, and lighting, but Kaysey made it even more stunning. I am a photographer who loves focusing on simple beauty that surrounds us on a daily basis, so getting to shoot in a single outdoor location, with no props or set ups, was exactly what my heart desired! Capturing beauty and light in a way that most people may not see it is what inspires me."
Inspiration: "This shoot was solely inspired by light and color. It fascinates me how each person can view a location or scenario one way, and another person may see it completely different. I'm constantly in awe of the beauty that surrounds us (especially here in Oregon), and I really try to capture my subjects and surroundings in a way that is timeless and real. I notice God's beauty on a daily basis, but that's part of my job: seeing and finding beauty in the simple things that make up everyday life. I love being able to capture nature, light, and youthfulness in a way that inspires others to feel something. Plus, Kaysey's pure heart and kind soul definitely inspired me when editing. I wanted her images to be real and honest, just like she is!"
Gear: "For this shoot I used my canon 5 d mark ii, and my 85mm lens. For editing I used both LightRoom 5 (for color & contrast) and Photoshop (for portrait editing)."
