An Illinois Senior Session | Hot 100 Winner
Today's featured senior session comes to you from one of our Hot 100 winners, The Moxie Design, located in Moline, Illinois!"Meeting up with Trevor was so much fun. We wanted to find some locations for his session that were off the beaten path and I'd say we were successful in that venture. We met up in a small town near the Quad Cities, (where I had scouted an old train car) and just started walking around. Yes, the train car provided us with some good images, but it was all of the surrounding architecture that made his session truly one of a kind. I love how open he was to any and all suggestions that I had, not to mention how handsome he is (I mean, do you see those cheekbones?). When it came to shooting his drum images, I was a bit nervous when he told me that the next day was his first game of the season for marching band. I was asking him to jump off of a four foot platform again and again (and again) and was terrified that he would somehow get hurt in doing so, but Trevor was determined to make this work to get the shot. When I found out that the specific image I'm referring to had won an award in the Senior Style Guide's HOT 100 contest I was so excited and couldn't wait to share the news with him that his tenacity had paid off. The coolest thing about this session is that I urged Trevor to talk to a local modeling agency after we were done shooting because he had mentioned being interested in it and I truly believed he has what it takes to be successful in that business. Three months later, he has signed with the agency and I can't wait to see what his future holds."Gear: "The entire session was shot using a Canon 5D Mark IIIFor lenses, I used a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8, Canon 85mm f/1.8 and Canon 24-70mm f/2.8For lighting, I used an Einstein Strobe & Canon 600 speedlite"Inspiration: "There were two driving factors behind this session - Trevor's awesome sense of style and his skills on the drumline in marching band. When I found out that Trevor played the drums, I got super pumped and my creative wheels started turning. What made the session even more special is that Trevor trusted my vision, which allowed us to get some pretty amazingly unique shots. This kid is fearless in every aspect of his life and it was an amazing experience to be able to collaborate with him." Love how you incorporated drumming! There is so much variety to his images, and he has such bold eyes! Thanks so much for sharing this session with us!You can find more of Karen's work on Facebook and Instagram! Thanks for reading SSG!Megan
