A Kansas Senior Session
Today's featured senior session is from Sarah Thummel of Stay Wild Photography, located in Wichita, KS. Here is what Sarah had to say about her session!
Please describe the session : "After being inspired at the studio breakout time with Nicollette Mollet and Jen Bertrand at PUSH last year, I knew I had to get back into studio photography. I knew that Morgan would look great with the idea I had in my head since she's a natural beauty. She has amazing cheek bones and I knew this is something the beauty dish would capture. We started with the leaves setup and moved to a simple white wall in my studio. I love the simplicity of shooting on white walls since your subject truly stands out."
Tell us about the gear used:
Nikon D800 with a Sigma 24-70 F4 lens plus an Alien Bee 400 with a Beauty Dish.
What inspired this session: "I'd seen some fashion photographers on Instagram playing with big leaves in photos and thought it would be fun to incorporate them with a beauty dish. I headed to my local craft store, purchased a handful of leaves, clamped them to my light stands and setup my beauty dish. I wanted to create something that was editorial, playful and unexpected in my basement studio. I found the fun coral earrings at Target, which played off the green of the leaves perfectly."
Hair and Makeup Artist
"Grace Young PRO Makeup Artist. Grace is amazing! I showed her what Morgan would be wearing and requested a pink eye color and she created this look. I absolutely loved the hot pink liner she used."https://www.facebook.com/graceyoungphotography/
