What to Wear Wednesday...with Tracy Michelle Woll
It's WTWW and this week we have Tracy Michelle of Scatter Creek Productions of Portland, OR wrapping up our July Americana theme!"When I think of Summer, I think of July and when I think of July, I think of America. For this year’s Americana themed shoot, I wanted to go back. Way back with a Vintage Americana feel. A bit of an old romantic feel of days gone by mixed with fresh new styles from today’s favorite brands. I had the models bring some of their own style to mix in with the wardrobe from our studio’s style closet. What we came up with together was nothing short of magical.I am so in love with this patterned, ruffled babydoll dress, paired with a flowy cream kimono and navy hat from American Eagle. This is the dress that inspired the entire theme and feel of this shoot. Pretty and free-spirited, this is a style that looks festival ready. Every piece we put together complimented this dress as well as each additional item in color, texture and mood. You just can’t go wrong with denim. Shorts, jeans and jackets are easy to mix in with favorite pieces with a look of days gone by. We pulled in looks from American Eagle, Free People, Urban Outfitters, Levi, OP, Roxy, and Love Culture to create the relaxed, romantic vintage looks that we were going for. I didn’t want the standard bright red, white and blue, but more muted colors of brick red, navy and cream to portray the vintage Americana feel. Amazing dresses and skirts were the starting inspiration and we went from there with billowy shirts with ruffles and lace, mixed in with basic denim pieces, cute hats, belts, necklaces and bracelets. The guys joined in with vintage inspired casual t-shirts in subdued colors, paired with well worn jeans. These current looks with vintage inspiration can take you through the lazy days of Summer, whether its a local fair, music festival, trip to the beach or evenings on a balcony with friends."Tracy, I love that you didn't do the traditional red, white, and blue! This def has a vintage vibe to it, and even a lot of American Eagle, Forever 21, and Free People! Very nicely done! Thanks so much for sharing with us:)Stay Stylish,Megan
