What to Wear Wednesday...with Salome Klopfenstein
Heyyyyy yall! It's September! And a whole new month means a whole new theme for our WTWW posts! This month's theme will be Studio. Each week, a different photog will present a WTWW post on various aspects of studio photography. To kick things off, we have Salome of Salome Photography, located in Indiana, joining us!
"For this week’s WTWW, we’re going into the studio for some Studio GLAM!
I’m so excited to speak on this subject, because I LOVE shooting glamorous looks in studio! Whether you shoot natural light or flash, combining glam looks with the simplicity of studio seamless backdrops, can really make your client and their attire and accessories pop!
For this first look, we went for a super glamorous studded romper, and photographed just the top of it for more of a beauty headshot look. Morgan looked stunning in this, and it was shot with natural light on a bone seamless background to really accentuate the softness of the look.
For the next two looks, these girls went with full formal dresses, and we shot each with action and movement to show off their gorgeous gowns and fun personality! I love the black and white contrasting stripes with black beading in the first dress, and the soft lace and ombre pink tulle in the second dress! Both totally glam, and both two different looks!
Another way that I LOVE to show off glam in studio is with a classic LBD look! Both Hayley and Kenzie pulled off these little black outfits, with statement jewelry perfectly! These were shot with studio lighting to really accentuate their look and the depth and drama I was going for in these images!
Also, if you’re looking for more of a soft glam look, it’s totally doable in studio! For MaKayla’s session, we shot a super soft ethereal type of look in studio to hi-light her delicate features. I totally love the softness of this entire look, from the hand painted backdrop to the soft flow of her dress!
Studio shooting isn’t just for old outdated senior portrait photography anymore. Studio can be edgy, glam, soft, and fun, and it’s totally coming back IN! Stayed tuned for more awesome WTWW posts focusing on studio shooting this month!"
Salome, you never cease to awe me with your work! There are def more ways to do studio glam than just prom dresses! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
