What To Wear Wednesday...Stephanie Pana
What to wear Wednesday is a new column we are starting at Senior Style Guide. It will be part of the Senior Style Lounge and will be a collaboration of many of your favorite people! I knew immediately that I wanted Stephanie Pana to kick this off. We have loved her work since Senior Style Guide was started. She has been an amazing friend and collaborator to the magazine and any special projects we have created. We love Stephanie! So I approached her to go out and shoot some upcoming looks for fall in her area, and she blew us away with the results. I want these outfits for me! I love, love, love the Midwest, fall and the autumn colors! So here is what Stephanie will be seeing and how her clients will be styled. You will be in love...Stephanie Pana...We’re officially entering a fashionista’s favorite time of the year – Autumn! Bring on the layers, flannels, scarves & boots. When it comes to embracing your Senior’s Fall portraits there are a few key things I’ve found really work well, especially for this cozy time of year. It’s our job to help guide and give our Senior the most guidance we can to assure they have a knock out look from head to toe! Each detail counts, even those little accessories. Showcased are two looks that while represent differentstyles, cohesively work really well together & offer your Senior the opportunity to show off different side of their personality.Let’s jump into look #1! This one is actually somewhat reminiscent of J Crew & the cleaner style. We’ve paired a SUPER cute sweater that has a decorative front pocket as the star of the look. To assure we add dimension, we’ve layered it with a medium denim button up with a collar to give it more texture & depth! This also adds a wonderful minimalistic look, but with a twist! The deep burgundy color works extremely well with many different skin tones & is perfect for the Fall landscapes. Pair this with a pair of dark skinny jeans (or black denim) along with a boot (combat or heeled) and you’ve got yourself a killer look! Don’t forget to accessorize though – Being that we have such a statement happening with the pocket & collar pairing, we’ve decided that the perfect addition would be a rose gold watch & white/gold bracelet to add that perfect bit of warmth and glamour. Don’t be afraid to toss in a dramatic hat for a few of the shots, too. Accessories really do make the biggest difference!I feel like something that is truly important during your Senior’s session is allowing them to showcase different sides of their personality. I feellike look #2 is the perfect mesh of grunge & girly! The mixture is just perfect and a total hit for your client. This look, again, is about layering from head to toe – This is what makes the outfit go from everyday wear to photo shoot worthy! We’ve started off with a super cozy tribal patterned, oversized navy sweater. These are a HUGE trend! Paired with this is personally one of my favorite styles – a fun graphic tee & a statement necklace hitting right at the collar. It’s such a fun way to “dress” up acasual tee. To keep with the fun grunge look, we’ve went with a more simplistic denim short, but went right back to the textured tights paired with a black combat boot – can’t forget my favorite little detail...the textured black & white sock to add even more dimension to the final look. The wide array of options you have to work off of these basic styles is never ending! Your Senior will feel more comfortable playing with the different layers while posing & it will give so much movement, dimension and texture to the final images. These are such fun looks & I hope you have fun trying out your own variations!Photos: Stephanie Pana Photography Styling/Wardrobe: Pink Slip BoutiqueMake Up Artist: Julie MunnModel: Arielle Soto (Ohlsson Model Management)xoxo,Vickie
