SSG Exclusive | Imagery by Carissa Davis

Today's SSG Exclusive is from Carissa Davis of Imagery by Carissa Davis, located in Wichita Falls, TX! If you are not familiar with Carissa's work, she is known for her styled shoots and love for bold colors! We are so excited to have this session by Carissa as a SSG Exclusive!! Here is what Carissa had to say about her session!

Please describe the session: "My model shoots are some of my absolute favorites! I love that they love when we get to do things out of the box. I have been wanting to challenge myself and do more indoor stuff, but I have been on the verge of should I commit to a studio and offer indoor sessions or continue just dancing in the natural light. So in true Carissa form- I decided just to grab some gear, some cute girls and just wing it!

While creating the mood boards I knew I wanted to throw in a disco ball. I just so happened to have a friend whom is a stage lighting genius and since he owed me a favor I figured I would cash it in and borrow his huge disco ball. However, he is much like me and can't just do things in small doses, so he also brought along his HUGE stage lighting and we just kinda went for it!

Since I am still on the edge of deciding to get a studio or not, I cashed in another favor and decided to bring my flock and my mess to our makeup/hair studio and set up shop in there. Behind their shop they had a maintenance hallway that is MAYBE 10 feet wide. BUT it gave me a great opportunity to build my set up out of everyones way. So even though it was covered in an inch worth of construction dust...we partied anyways! Funny what you create in such a tiny space!"

Tell us what gear you used: "Canon Mark iii. Canon 135 mm. Sigma Art 50mm. Profoto B10 250W/s. Some crazy stage lighting that rolled in on suitcases and had a mother board control system! Waaaay out of my league!

What inspired the sesssion: "I am LOVING minimalist art right now along with the fun bright colors of Pop Art. I wanted to do a series that complimented both but gave a color blocking feel. While this was achieved on most we also just took the opportunity to play with abnormal objects like tinsel curtains and disco ball ( kind of an obsession of mine)."

Hair and Makuep: Primp and Blow Kandace Burns Beauty.
