Today we are featuring a senior session from Rayla Kay Photography, located in Post Falls, Idaho. Here is what Rayla had to say about her session!
Please describe the session: “The day was finally cooling off when we ventured outside into the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho air. At this time of year the days are hot and the evenings are wonderful for shooting. We drove around to several spots, some right off the freeway--but no less beautiful. I think that is one of the most surprising things for our clients--them seeing their photos after we'd shot so close to something "NOT PRETTY". But I always tell them--trust me, you are going to LOVE this image. Just wait and see. Addie's a natural, and we've been shooting with her since she was 14, so this shoot was kind of bittersweet. As a predominately senior photographer I find myself creating relationships with all these young people and then after a few years you have to send them off to college... but I truly do count the time I get with them as a blessing.”
Tell us about the gear used: ”I used a Canon 5d Mark III with a 50mm canon 1.2 lens. I like soft, bokeh filled images so I tend to shoot at a 2.8 or lower! 100 ISO is always my first choice!”
What inspired this session? “Addie's natural beauty. She's got that sun kissed skin and overall Cali Babe vibe.”
Hair and Makeup Artist: “Addie did her own makeup for this session however we do have Sherri Collins (as our in-studio makeup artist) AKA: my mom. We are a family owned and operated business. Two sisters, one mom and a cousin.”
