On Our Radar | B. Beautiful Artistry
Welcome to the second installment of our new column “On Our Radar”Is there a photographer whose work you find yourself going back to again and again? Maybe you have never heard of this photographer? Perhaps they are “flying under the radar”? It happens but I want to find those photographers. I want to celebrate their work.Each month we will be featuring an artist who is inspiring others, who may not necessarily be someone you have heard of. From time to time I will be enlisting the help of the SSG community to nominate an artist. I want to hear their story, share their triumphs and hear what they are doing to make this dream of theirs a reality. We can learn from others whether it be through inspiration, education or everything in between.This community will only get stronger if we are there to uplift and give as many people as possible a voice.Our “On Our Radar” artist this month is Brennan Terry of B. In Brennan's words...Tell our readers a little about yourself? I am a wife, momma of two little girlies and a lover of helping bring out the best in others both inside and out.
Where do you look for inspiration? I find my biggest inspiration from locations. I love location scouting! I will build a shoot, theme or feeling around a location.
What was the biggest mistake you have made so far? I think the biggest mistake I have made so far was underestimating myself! You are your biggest fan or your worst critic. If you see the value in your work others will too.
How did you get started? I started out as a Hair & Makeup Artist and fell in love with photography while working with amazing photographers on styled shoots. I feel like offering a total package lets me not only have extra time with my clients while getting them all dolled up, but it also helps them feel comfortable with me so I can get the best out of them during their session.
What are you plans for the future with your business?My goal is to create a one of a kind experience for my clients. I want all my girls to leave feeling a huge boost of confidence that they can take with them for ever! Everyone is beautiful and it is important that they know that.
Anything else you think would help someone starting out in this market?Find something that you can do to differentiate yourself from other photographers in your area and run with it.
