Today's featured senior session comes to you from HOT 100 Icon Status winner Sean Brown of Vancouver, Washington!Bio:"Sean Brown is a photographer and educator based out of Vancouver, Washington specializing in high school senior portraits. He is considered one of the leading educators for senior photography especially around marketing and branding. His goal is to bring out every senior’s personality in their images and is dedicated to making sure that every senior session is different so that no two seniors’ images are alike."

Session Details:

"There were a few images that won from Alexa’s destination shoot that we did down in Los Angeles this summer, so I figured that this would be the perfect session to give you all some details about! For this session, Alexa came down as part of a joint collaboration between Thomas Nguyen and myself to bring our Senior Teams together from across the country and give them a once in a lifetime experience photoshoot in LA!

We were fortunate to have my wonderful team of hair and makeup artists from GLAMbeauty Bar join us and Meghan and Alex couldn’t have done a better job with making sure everything was perfect. For this shoot, I used a combination of the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM and the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II on my Canon 1DX. I chose this combo to give me a good variety of perspectives throughout the shoot and give me flexibility in how I could shoot wide and long in a busy environment like Los Angeles. Not pictured is Thomas dropping my backup body almost off the cliff at Malibu, but we won’t talk about that…

Our inspiration for this shoot was to use the locations that were so different than what Alexa would have for her official senior portrait session in Portland, OR later this summer. Since the locations in the Pacific Northwest are very different than LA, we wanted to make sure that we styled looks and chose locations that could have only existed in LA — and that we did! When planning out the wardrobe and locations, we wanted to make sure we had a great variety of looks for Alexa to choose from, so we made sure to plan out our destination with desert, urban and of course the beaches in LA like Venice and Malibu.

It was so great being down there with her and her family and would go back and do it again in a heartbeat!!"
