EYE ON FASHION | chuck's
I love shoes.it's really no secret.wedges, cowboy boots, stiletto's, gladiator sandals, wellies, hiking shoes, you name it...I love them and want a pair.(p.s. check out my shoe board on pinterest for full realization of this obsession of mine...it run's deep!) ;)but today I'm talking about a shoe for ever day wear...a shoe that has stood the test of time and people keep coming back to again and again...they are kinda like your favorite pair of jeans...you slide em' on and you can almost audibly sigh a happy sigh...it juuuuuuuust fits and feels right.and chances are if you're in high school, you have a pair (or okay, 14 pairs) of these in your shoe closet.what shoe am I talking about?
chucks. :)
side note, do you even know WHY they are called chuck's?no?well, here's your historical factoid of the day:In 1921, a basketball player by the name of Charles "Chuck" Taylor joined a basketball team sponsored by the Converse Company called The Converse All Stars. Taylor held basketball clinics in high schools all over the county and while teaching the fundamentals of the game, he sold the All Star shoes.so there you go...what is current and trendy and available in ANY shade of the rainbow started way back in 1921.what do you want to bet Mr. Taylor had no idea how iconic the shoes he sold were going to be?! ;)a little look into how I photograph and style my clients:I like for my clients to have a well-rounded senior session and encourage bringing at least three different types of clothing changes:1. that iconically states their style right now...boho, preppy, edgy, simple...whatever says YOU.2. a slight bit dressier choice...could be a dress, could be a loose buttoned-up shirt, something a little more glam/chic.and 3. a slight be cooler version of what a saturday afternoon hanging outfit...cut-off shorts with a casual shirt, stacked bracelets, looser care-free-blowing-in-the-wind hair and their favorite pair of chuck's.one other thing I do during their session if shoes are as important to them as they are to me?I take a picture of just their feet with their favorite chuck's on.why?because a lot of my clients blow that photograph up and use it for art on their dorm room walls! :)Here's few of my favorites with my clients and their favorite chuck's!as always, I'd LOVE to see how you incorporate chuck's into your next session...you can find me here:web | facebook | twitter | instagram | pinterest | blog | google+MUCH love,
