An Alabama Senior Session
Today's featured senior session comes to you from Jackson Flannigan Photography, located in Birmingham, AL.
"About two years ago, I transition from being a general photographer to specializing in teen and high school senior portraiture, with senior portraiture being 95% of my business. I have been hesitant to jump head first into a senior rep program with the big group concept shoot. Instead, I choose a couple of seniors from one of the local high schools. Each girl chosen received our full signature senior experience so that they are able to share their experience with their friends and classmates."
Inspiration: "I wanted to give my senior reps a little something extra so I incorporated one styled outfit into each girls wardrobe. Haley plays varsity basketball for her high school and have been offer a scholarship to play basketball at one of our universities. So I knew basketball was important to her and I wanted to capture that. We paired her basketball sneakers with a Space 46 Boutique tulle skirt and Forever 21 faux leather trim black shirt from my style closet. The juxtaposition of the tulle skirt with the basketball sneakers were perfection and turn out to be some of the senior's and parents' favorite images. The remainder of the session was inspired by the senior's outfit that we styled together."
Gear: "I'm a Canon girl and currently shooting with my Canon 7d. My photography is very subject focus making 50mm/1.4 the perfect portrait lens for the 7d's crop sensor. I will also whip out my 35mm/2.0 when I want to bring more of the background in the photograph."
Hair & MUA: "I love my HMUA Amber Myrick of the Blue Lotus Salon and Spa of Gardendale, AL. All my girls are treated to airbrush makeup and hair application at her beautiful salon before our session together and have the option to bring Amber on location with us for touch up and additional hair/makeup looks."
