A Texas Senior Session

Today's featured senior session comes to you from Valerie Henderson Photography, located in Royse City, TX!

Valerie shared about this session: "I am very new to Senior photography and wanted to get some variety during this session. We started off in an urban setting, moved to a field setting and then ended the session using my Off Camera Flash for a few shots. My model was a dream to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed shooting this session!"

Gear: "I use a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 85mm f/1.2 and Canon 24-70mm f/2.8. For Off Camera Flash, I used an Alien Bees 800 with Beauty Dish, Pocket Wizard transmitters and powered by a Vagabond Mini."

Inspiration: "This was my first Senior Session to shoot. I wanted to shoot the majority of it in natural light using the same techniques I use during family sessions to eliminate stress. I have several photographers I follow that use Off Camera Flash and I knew I wanted to attempt a dramatic shot at the end. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and can't wait to incorporate more OCF in my sessions!"

I love the look of the OCF ones! The close up shot in the green dress, where her hand is in her hair, is my fave though! Thanks so much for sharing this session with us!!

Valerie shared a little about herself: "I started shooting with my first dSLR in 2008, but didn't start my business until 2010 after deciding to stay home with our twin boys. Our family recently made a big move from Nashville, TN to North Texas and I am rebranding my business to focus on Seniors and Families."
