A Texas Senior Session

Today's featured senior session is from Krystal Hays of Krystal Kaye Images, located in Lake Dallas, TX. Here is what Krystal had to say about her session!

Please describe the session: "Eliza's senior session took place in a local downtown area known for its quaint charms and historical train station. We chose this location because of the variety of settings it offered. She chose outfits with a cool country girl vibe to match the feeling of the location.

We shot at the treasured train depot and several other nearby buildings and locations. One of my favorite shots is in front of a local market that had plants and flowers displayed on the sidewalk. It made a perfect backdrop for our spring session."

Tell us about the gear used:

Canon 5D IV; Sigma 85 1.2

What inspired this session? "We played off the quaint downtown area's vibe and went with a small town country girl feel to her session. I also drew from her personality that included her more sporty style to her fashionista model side."

Hair and Makeup Artist: "Eliza did her own makeup and her sister, Emma did her hair."

"Variety is the spice of life that gives it all its flavor! Without variety, Senior sessions can be monotonous and lifeless. By incorporating a variety of locations, a variety of outfits and a variety of styles from clothing to hair, it really kicks your senior sessions up a notch!

In this session, we used a train depot, old metal barn building, white cottage, downtown sidewalk, brown barn doors, outdoor market and a little alley way with beautiful back lighting. We even borrowed a dog from a passerby and used him as a prop in some of our photos. Eliza had 4 outfits each with accessories such as jewelry and jackets to change them up a bit plus her cap and gown. These elements combined in her session allowed us to create a session filled with so many textures, colors and other aspects that added interest and uniqueness to each shot.

Change up your Senior sessions and add some variety!"
