A NYC Senior Session

Today's featured senior session comes to you from Kiersta Rhodes Photography, located in Portland, OR!

Here is what Kiersta had to say about this session with Shianne in NYC:

"Shianne is a 2014 Senior from Caliche High School in Sterling, CO. When Shianne contacted me to do her session in NYC I was thrilled! Shianne and her mom had never been to NYC so it was an amazing experience for her to take her senior photos there! I used to live in NYC but unfortunately didn't have a love for photography just yet so this was my first portrait session there. With Shianne having never been to NYC we wanted to photograph in all the iconic places! Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Flatiron Building, NYC High Line...all these places included TONS of people, which was the biggest obstacle throughout! We spent six days in NYC photographing this session. "

Inspiration: "A huge inspiration for this session was Shianne's love for the Brooklyn Bridge. She's always enjoyed art classes in high school and she recently did a canvas painting of the Brooklyn Bridge. We made sure to shoot at the BB a few days (each at different times of the day to create different lighting styles)."

Gear: 5D Mark ll, Canon 50mm 1.2, Canon 85mm 1.2, Canon 100mm 2.8, Canon 35mm 1.2, Westcott 5-in-1 Reflector

I absolutely LOVE these!! How fun! And that last one with OCF, FAB!!! Thanks so much for your submission!!

When asked about herself and her business, Kiersta said: "I'm a dreamer, believer, philanthropist, lover of life & most importantly, a photographer! I'm truly blessed to be able to do what I love and capture life's amazing moments through my lens. I had an amazing senior photography experience when I was in high school and I hope to be able to bring that to each and every one of my senior clients. I approach my senior sessions with more of a lifestyle grasp...I like to incorporate places that mean something to each senior. I think it's so important that each senior's photos be unique from their friends and classmates. It's about giving my clients an experience they'll never forget, instead of just photos."
