A Minnesota Senior Session

Today's featured senior session comes to you from Photography by Kelly Klatt, located in Buffalo, Minnesota!

"Every year in the late fall/early spring I do a *bonus* group shoot for my senior models. They've already done the main group shoot + their individual sessions at this point. It's just something fun for them and for me! I like to create a little buzz during the slow time, so a shoot like this works perfectly!When I envisioned this shoot, I saw the girls at a campground sitting around a campfire…but for the life of me…I couldn’t find a decent campsite that was A) nearby and B) somewhat attractive….so I convinced my husband to dig a fire pit in our backyard…we hauled a few tents down from the rafters (this lady doesn’t do sleeping on the floor anymore), and boom, you’ve got a homemade campground. You know...I do have a pool in the back…I wonder if I could start charging this summer…hmmmm. #notetoself #klattcampground #freewifi #nopublicshowers

We shot this on November 9th…which was a cold and dreary day. That night we got almost 12 inches of snow~I’m SO happy we were able to do this before it hit!"

Inspiration: "I had three 'rough' ideas in my head...I went to my models and had them vote...the camping theme was almost unanimous!"

"I've owned my own business for over 6 years, and worked for another studio before that...I have a studio attached to my home out in the country...it's small-ish (950q feet), but it's perfect for me!I have 2 part time employees that are amazing...Sarah does all of my in person sales...and Amie tackles a lot of my editing during the busy season. It's made the balance between work/home so nice! I'm married to my high school sweetheart, and we have 3 kids (6,9,12), who keep me employed as their personal chauffeur. All in all...this photography gig is a pretty sweet deal!
