A Hawaiian Senior Session

Today's featured senior session comes to you from Sunshine Soul Photography, located in Kailua, Hawaii!

"Betsy was visiting Oahu with her family for a special trip before her senior year and wanted to take her senior portraits while here in Hawaii. She wanted them to be very Hawaii and very different from what her friends back home in Kansas are doing. Well, I don't think her friends are going to have anything quite like these!"

Inspiration: "Betsy has such a sunny personality and it shows through in absolutely every shot. Since she wanted her shoot to be very Hawaiian, we showcased things that are particularly local like shave ice, the surfboards, palm trees, and the ocean. It definitely isn't Kansas. :)"

Gear: "I used my Canon Mark II, the 85mm 1.2, and a reflector."

Jen shared a little about herself: "I am a wife, mom, and photographer located in Kailua, Hawaii. I live on the beautiful island of Oahu and have fallen in love with the Hawaiian lifestyle and living with Aloha. I am married to a wonderful military man, so I am blessed with the opportunity to re-establish my business in a new location every couple of years (said sarcastically). Like so many, my professional photography journey began with the notion of capturing those everyday moments of my children’s lives and trying to freeze time and preserve those precious memories. I have recently found where my passion truly lies with senior portraits. I absolutely LOVE being able to provide a young girl on the cusp of womanhood an unforgettable, confidence building experience and beautiful, heirloom products."
