A California Senior Session
Today’s featured senior session comes to you from Michelle Alexandra Photography, located in Monterey, CA!
Describe this session for our readers:
“My session with Class of 2016 Everette Alvarez High School Senior Deaysia started off in Downtown Salinas, CA. When I found out she is a aspiring model I knew she was going to be open to some creative looks. We started off shooting some simple and pretty looks for the yearbook and ended the session at the beach in Monterey, CA where we edged things up at bit and took some editorial shots.”
What inspired this session?
“Most of the inspiration from this shoot came from the senior! How could you not be inspired by her beautiful box braids. I usually ask my seniors to bring a prom dress to there session for creative shots. When Deaysia pulled out her dress I instantly thought about this beautiful silk top hat I had in my prop bag in the trunk of my car. The top hat instantly took this senior session into a fashion editorial shoot. I’m so happy she was opened minded about wearing the hat. The prom dress look ended up being her favorite look from our photo session.”
Gear used:
“I used a Canon 7D with a Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens and a Canon 24-70 2.8 lens.”
Hair & MUA:
“We had lots of fun with her box braids and she is always very good at applying her own make-up. She said it’s from all those Youtube make-up channels she’s been watching.”

These are killer, Michelle! She is a beautiful senior, but also has a fierceness about her. That last image is a knock out, but I really love them all! Thanks so much for sharing this session with us!
